The Invisible Ocean (2017)
Exhibition
Inspired by expeditions made by 19th century botanists, climatologists and oceanographers who went out to sea, climbed mountains or made balloon ascents to measure the natural world, The Invisible Ocean consists of four videos that follows the artists as they attempt to capture, and in some way resolve, a reality in flux. Filmed on Fogo, an island facing the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Newfoundland, the videos pit the futility of their gestures against an environment that is excessive, limitless and beyond measure.

The Invisible Ocean, 2017, four-channel video installation, dimensions variable.
