Tools that Measure the Intensity of Passionate Interests (2010-11)
If the exchange of goods and services are like twigs and branches floating along a complex network of rivers, streams and canals called “the global economy,” then how can we account for the undercurrents that brew deep below the surface without which the whole enterprise would remain in a state of perpetual stagnation?

This is the very question that is explored in a series
of gelatin silver prints and an artist book that takes as a starting point the spread of beliefs and desires that participate in the processes of economic valorization.

Between conceptual writing and poetic expression, the artist book is a contemporary version of the Baroque book of emblems, combining “textual snapshots” along with silhouette drawings of objects and mottos to provide distilled visions of contemporary capitalism’s subterranean landscape.
