Architectural Services and Roadway Designs for Animals comprises a series of structures made from found and recycled materials. These works meditate on the relationship of non-human animals with their habitat, and how they use and modify their environment.
The Subterranean Sector draws our attention to the worlds hidden beneath our feet, and more specifically to the architectures developed by animals living underground.
The work consists of a series of handwritten signs whose texts humorously describe a variety of constructions and architectural features considered desirable by various rodents, arthropods and insects.
Material interventions suggest the entrances to the dwellings described, inviting viewers to lean down and imagine those places they can't see, including monarchical megacities ruled by ants and nurseries for baby bumblebees.
The texts combine terms used to describe human dwellings in real estate advertisements, characterizations of the social and political organizations of families and communities, and the psychological and existential traits that shape ways of inhabiting a place.
